It also has a stronger intoxicating effect than MDMA — rather than feeling more clear-headed, MDA makes users feel a sort of stimulant drunk. Disinhibition is common in higher doses, which can lead users to do things they later regret.

MDA acts as a serotonin-norepinephrine–dopamine releasing agent (SNDRA) to produce its characteristic effects.
